Affiliate disclosure

How NitrousWeb earns money, and how we make sure that never affects what we recommend.

Effective and last updated: September 16, 2026

The short version

NitrousWeb earns money through affiliate links. If you click a link on our site and then buy something or sign up, we may receive a commission from the company. This never costs you anything extra, and it never decides what we recommend.

How affiliate links work

Some of the links on our site are affiliate links. They contain a tracking code that tells the merchant or affiliate network you arrived from NitrousWeb. If you make a qualifying purchase or complete an action such as starting a trial, the merchant pays us a commission.

The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go to the merchant directly. Occasionally, a merchant gives our readers an exclusive discount, which we’ll always label as such.

We participate in affiliate programs operated by merchants directly and through affiliate networks. A program’s appearance on our site does not mean that the merchant endorses NitrousWeb.

Editorial independence

Affiliate relationships do not decide what we write. In particular:

  • We choose which products to cover based on reader needs and our own research, not commission rates.
  • Merchants cannot pay to be included, ranked higher, or reviewed favorably.
  • We point out drawbacks and recommend against products when we think that’s the right call.
  • We may mention products we have no affiliate relationship with when they’re the best fit for readers.

Merchants may review drafts for factual accuracy, such as pricing and feature names. Our opinions and conclusions remain our own. Read more in our editorial policy.

Where you’ll see disclosures

In line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising, we disclose affiliate relationships clearly and conspicuously. Articles and pages with affiliate links include a disclosure near the top, before the first affiliate link, as well as a reminder in the footer of every page.

If we ever receive a product for free, are paid to create content, or have any other material connection to a company we write about, we will say so in that content.

When we run paid search or social media ads that promote content connected to an affiliate relationship, we follow each platform’s advertising policies and the affiliate program’s rules, and we use appropriate disclosure labels in the ad where applicable.
