Privacy policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have, including your rights as a California resident.

Effective and last updated: September 16, 2026

Overview

This privacy policy explains how NitrousWeb (“NitrousWeb,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit www.nitrousweb.com (the “Site”), contact us, or otherwise interact with us.

By using the Site, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Site.

Information we collect

Information you give us

When you contact us through the Site’s contact form or by email, we collect the information you provide, which may include your name, email address, company name, website address, and the content of your message.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, our hosting provider and any analytics tools we use may automatically collect certain information, including:

  • IP address and approximate location derived from it
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages visited, time spent on pages, and the referring website
  • The date and time of your visit

Information from affiliate links

When you click an affiliate link on the Site, you leave our Site and go to a third-party merchant or affiliate network. That third party may place cookies or similar technologies on your device to record that you arrived from our Site. We receive reports from affiliate networks showing that a referral occurred and whether it resulted in a qualifying action, such as a purchase or sign-up. These reports are typically aggregated and generally do not identify you personally to us.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Respond to your questions, requests, and partnership enquiries
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site
  • Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve our content
  • Track affiliate referrals and receive commissions
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

We do not use personal information to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you based solely on automated processing.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share personal information with:

  • Service providers that help us operate the Site and our business, such as website hosting, email, and analytics providers, under obligations to protect the information and use it only for the services they provide to us.
  • Affiliate networks and merchants, to the limited extent that referral tracking occurs when you click an affiliate link.
  • Professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, where necessary.
  • Authorities and others, when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of NitrousWeb, our users, or others.
  • A successor organization, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business.

Cookies and tracking

The Site itself uses only the minimal technologies needed for it to function. Third parties, including affiliate networks and merchants, may set cookies when you click an affiliate link. If we add analytics or advertising tools in the future, we will update this policy and our cookie policy.

Global Privacy Control. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for the browser or device sending the signal.

Do Not Track. Because there is no common industry standard for Do Not Track signals, the Site does not currently respond to them, other than as described for GPC above.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. Contact messages are generally kept for up to 24 months after our last communication, unless a longer period is needed for an ongoing business relationship or to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to the Site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the “CCPA”), gives you the following rights, subject to certain exceptions:

  • Right to know what personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties we disclose it to.
  • Right to access the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to delete personal information we collected from you.
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of the sale of personal information or its sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information through the Site.
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

Categories of personal information

In the preceding 12 months, we may have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (such as name, email address, and IP address); commercial information (such as referral records from affiliate networks); internet or other electronic network activity (such as browsing activity on the Site); and professional information you choose to share (such as company name). These are collected from you directly, from your device, and from affiliate networks, for the business purposes described in this policy.

Sale and sharing

We do not sell personal information, and we do not knowingly share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

How to make a request

Email privacy@nitrousweb.com or use our contact form and select “Privacy request.” We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days, as required by law. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request, usually by matching information you provide with information we hold. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, and we may ask for proof of that authorization.

Shine the Light

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 allows California residents to request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

Rights in other U.S. states

Residents of other states with consumer privacy laws may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@nitrousweb.com. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and we will respond as required by applicable law.

Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Visitors outside the United States

The Site is operated in the United States and intended for visitors in the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, your information will be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

Third-party websites

The Site links to websites operated by others, including merchants and affiliate networks. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review the privacy policies of any website you visit.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date at the top of this page and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
